The teaching- learning process has come a long way from the
ancient ‘gurukuls’ to the contemporary ‘smart class rooms’. Our world has witnessed
an unprecedented escalation in technology and its consumptions. The field of
education could not remain exempt from its effect.
The advent of the world wide web, information portals, centers
of colossal information, PCs in every household, mouse in every little hand
called for a paradigm shift in the process of imparting knowledge and
disseminating information. The need for ICT in education was acknowledged and
efforts to integrate technology with education were initiated. Today,
